2010 Arbovirus Surveillance Information

In 2010 in Massachusetts, routine collection and testing of mosquitoes for WNV and EEE virus will begin in late June. The State Laboratory Institute performs testing for WNV and EEE virus infection in horse and human specimens year-round.
NOTE: Dead birds are no longer being tested for WNV and do not need to be reported to MDPH.
